WMPMI is hosting a Risk Management Essentials workshop on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at The Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville. This workshop will be presented by Laszlo Retfalvi, Principal of Retfalvi and Associates (  Tickets are now available for WMPMI Members only at the premier member pricing rate of $299. This registration rate will expire on March 25, 2019 at Midnight or when 50 members have registered - whichever comes first.

Workshop Overview

This information-filled, one-day workshop is comprised of an interactive review of key risk management topics to maximize session effectiveness and reinforce key risk management concepts. Aligned with the PMI® PMBOK® Guide 6th Edition and PMI® Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, the core concepts and knowledge learned is also complimentary and of benefit to PRINCE2®, ITIL®, COBIT®, Risk IT®, Agile, BABOK® Guide, and ISO 31000 practitioners. Attendees will receive an overview of industry risk management best practices, techniques, and critical success factors required to achieve project success.

Part 1 Review of the Basics

Attendees will review and learn the following key risk management topics:

  • The Project Manager’s Role
  • Critical Success Factors in Risk Management Planning
  • Risk Identification and Qualitative Risk Analysis
  • Quantitative Risk Analysis and Risk Response
  • Risk Control

Part 2 Applying the Basics

Building on the knowledge learned, attendees will work in groups using project examples to properly populate and complete a project risk register.

Part 3 Network

Attendees will have an opportunity for further interaction and sharing of experiences at the May chapter dinner meeting that directly follows this workshop, which is included in the price of the workshop.

It is important to note that registration through this site is only for individual WMPMI members who ARE NOT registering as part of a non-sponsored group of five or more people or as a group whose organization sponsors WMPMI. 4:00 PM – Workshop concludes.
5:00 PM – Dinner Meeting Session 1: Focusing on what is Important - Event Based Risk Management - 1 PDU (Technical)
6:00 PM – Buffet dinner and networking.
7:00 PM – Dinner Meeting Session 2: Pulling it all Together - Succeed with a Risk-Smart Attitude - 1 PDU (0.5 Techinical, 0.5 Leadership)
