Who is Spencer Horn?

Spencer Horn

Spencer is able to draw upon his 26 years of executive experience to reenergize seasoned and emerging professionals and increase organizational effectiveness. He inspires change, to develop: a powerful culture, effective communication, high performing teams and engagement. 

Spencer is currently the President of Altium Leadership. He has previously been CEO of leadership development company and Vice President of a NASDAQ company, which developed IMAX theaters in tourist destinations. There he worked with major organizations such as IMAX Corp., National Geographic Television, Radio City Productions, Disney Films and more. He has been speaking and presenting at PMI chapter development conferences since 2010 and has been a regular speaker at the PMI Leadership Institute Meeting (LIM) North America Conference, since 2014. He has also been the concluding speaker for the yearlong, PMI Leadership Institute Master Class (LIMC) since 2015 and is scheduled to speak again at the 2018 LIMC in Los Angeles.

He is a co-author of the "Speakers on Life"‚Äč anthology "The Power of the Platform" along with Jack Canfield, Les Brown, Brian Tracy and more.

He holds a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in economics from the University of Utah. He is a certified team coaching facilitator through Team Coaching International and a certified Professional Dynametric Programs trainer and administrator through PDP Global. Spencer has been married to his amazing wife, Jana, for more than 32 years. Together they have five beautiful children and three grandchildren.


WMPMI is holding two four-hour leadership workshops on February 12, 2019 at The University Club in Grand Rapids. These workshops will be presented by Spencer Horn, President of Altium Leadership (www.altiumleadership.com). Early bird tickets are now available for members at $399 and non-members at $449.

  1. Workshop #1 from 8 AM to Noon - "Communicate with Impact" (4 Leadership PDUs).
    NOTE:
    Included with your registration is a ProScan leadership and communication survey. This survey must be taken prior to the workshop. It will help you get the most out of the workshop by helping you understand your leadership and communication styles. This willl help you understand your team, your peers, and build your communication skills.  

    Value to participants:

    • Identify your personal communication preferences
    • Understand how to lead, manage, engage, and motivate different styles of communicators.
    • How to most effectively communicate between differing preferences.
    • Identify blocks to effective leadership and communication and what to do about them.
    • Gain tools for managing conflict.


  2. Workshop #2 from 1 PM to 5 PM - “If You Want Something Done Right, DON’T Do It Yourself: Effective Delegation & Coaching Skills for Busy Leaders” (4 Leadership PDUs).
    Gain understanding and experience on how to coach and manage direct reports around challenging behavioral issues.


    Value to participants:

    • Learn how to take charge of your busy day.
    • Understand how our own emotions and the emotions of others affect our decision-making.
    • Develop the listening skills necessary to make better decisions.
    • Learn effective delegation versus abdication or control.
    • Learn conflict management techniques.
    • Begin to learn and practice proven coaching techniques.


Each workshop individually is $250. However, WMPMI is offering early bird pricing for both workshops for members and non-members from December 10, 2018 to January 20, 2019 at Midnight. These prices will increase by $50 after January 20th. The morning workshop registration includes a breakfast buffet and snacks. The afternoon workshop includes a lunch buffet and snacks. Also, anyone who registers for both workshops will also receive a complimentary registration for the February 11, 2019 dinner meeting at The Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville where Spencer Horn will present "The Neuroscience of Leadership" (2 Leadership PDUs).  Both workshops and the dinner meeting total 10 Leadership PDUs. 

Registration through this site is only for individual WMPMI members and non-members who ARE NOT registering as part of a non-sponsored group of 5 or more people or as a group whose organization sponsors WMPMI. Individual early bird ticket costs are $399 for members and $449 for non members.

Non-sponsored Group rates. Organizations that are not WMPMI sponsors can register a minimum of 5 or more people at $349 per person.

WMPMI Sponsor rates. These rates apply regardless of the number of attendees.  

Copper ($1,000) and nickel ($2,000) sponsors

  • No registration minimum
  • Ticket cost is $349 per person.


For bronze ($4,000) and above

  • No registration minimum
  • Ticket cost is $299 per person.
