Sessions 1 and 2 Presentation: Idea Mapping Workshop

This is a 2 hour workshop that runs across both sessions with the normal break for dinner & networking.  It will commence promptly at 5:10 pm.

Idea Mapping is a powerful, whole-brained visual thinking tool that enhances performance, memory, note taking, thought organization, planning, creativity, and communication. It uses key words, colors, lines and images to organize your thoughts associatively. Idea Maps engage both sides of the brain – resulting in the ability to see a big picture of all the information on a single page and the relationships between data. They are a non-linear expression of the way the mind naturally processes information.

This technique may be applied to every aspect of your job and life to improve learning and clarify thinking. It may also be applied to all aspects of project management. Idea Mapping provides a universal key to unlock the potential of your brain.

Idea Mapping has been embraced by major companies including Boeing, BP, Ford, Franklin Templeton, L.L.Bean, Mayo Clinic, Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, University of Warsaw in Poland, the U.S. Army, and many more. Join Jamie Nast, the author of Idea Mapping, for an introduction to Idea Mapping and an opportunity to practice!

Please bring 8-10 fine-tip colored markers to this session.

During this activity-based session you will:

- Recognize your current pattern of thinking
- Understand how Idea Maps leverage both sides of the brain
- Experience how you brain processes information associatively
- See how an Idea Map gets created
- Be introduced to the Idea Mapping guidelines
- Understand the importance of imagery through some basic drawing
- See Idea Maps from other professionals around the globe
- Create your first Idea Maps
- Develop an Idea Map as a team
