Building Connections That Strengthen Project Leadership
WMPMI Outreach
The objective of WMPMI Outreach is to strengthen the project leadership ecosystem across West Michigan and communities across Michigan by building meaningful connections among professionals, employers, students, educators, and partner organizations. We believe project leadership grows stronger when people, ideas, and institutions work together. Through outreach, WMPMI creates opportunities to share knowledge, develop talent, expand partnerships, and support the future of project leadership in our region.
As the PMI Western Michigan Chapter, we are committed to serving as a Project Leadership Hub — connecting today’s professionals with tomorrow’s talent and helping organizations understand the value of strong project leadership in delivering complex work.
Academic Outreach
The Academic Outreach team works with colleges, universities, faculty, and student groups to build lasting partnerships that strengthen the future project leadership workforce. Through initiatives such as theProject™ collegiate competition, academic outreach helps students apply project management principles to real-world challenges while connecting with professionals, mentors, employers, and career opportunities.
PMO Corporate Outreach
The PMO Corporate Outreach team strengthens relationships with employers, sponsors, and industry leaders across West Michigan and Michigan. Its mission is to help organizations recognize the value of project leadership and to create opportunities for collaboration through professional development, sponsorship, workforce engagement, and strategic partnerships. WMPMI connects businesses with a community of professionals and emerging talent who can help organizations deliver important work successfully.
Community, Military, and Regional Outreach
The Community and Regional Outreach effort focuses on building connections across the chapter’s broad geographic territory and supporting partnerships that strengthen project leadership in the region. This includes collaboration with other PMI chapters in Michigan, outreach to regional organizations, Military Outreach, and opportunities for members to engage with initiatives that matter to West Michigan communities and employers. Through these efforts, WMPMI expands access, encourages participation, and helps grow a stronger project leadership network across the state.
Why Outreach Matters
Outreach is one of the ways WMPMI brings its mission to life. By building bridges between education, industry, and community, we help strengthen professional development, support future talent, and increase the visibility and influence of the project management profession.
WMPMI is building the future of project leadership — and outreach is how we grow that future together.
