WMPMI's monthly chapter meeting is a two-PDU event featuring two presentation sessions linked by networking time and a buffet dinner.

Session 1 Topic: Scaled Agile Framework – An Enterprise Approach to Scaled Agility
Part one will be a detailed review of the Scaled Agile Framework, from top to bottom. During this presentation, we will look at how the Scaled Agile Framework helps position the Enterprise to align their corporate strategies with feasible funding approaches, periodic review of market and strategy, continued monitoring of Investment Horizons, and communication to the teams. From the bottom up, we will look at how SAFe Agile Teams work together with the business to come to alignment on expectations, commitments, and delivery.

Speaker Bio:
Michael Worden is a career Information Technology professional specializing in Project, Program, and Portfolio Management. His background includes industry experience with Tool & Die, Machine Building and Factory Automation, Consulting, Automotive Manufacturing, Health Care, and Retail.
From these industries Michael brings over three decades of practical business experience, including more than twenty years in the Project/Program/Portfolio space. Having held positions such as Director of Information Systems, Chairman of IS Steering Committee, and Portfolio Manager, his insights at all levels of corporate function are well seasoned.
Michael is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute, a Professional Scrum Master (PSM) with Scrum.org, a Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), and Release Train Engineer (RTE) with Scaled Agile, Inc. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science, Information Technology Project Management from Capella University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science, Technology Management with Davenport University. Michael is certified to teach Scaled Agile Framework certification courses and is an active member of WMPMI.

Session 2 Speaker: Sandra Coutts PMP, SPC, SASM
Session 2 Topic: Scaled Agile Framework – The Meijer Journey, so far…
Part two of the presentation will present this information in the form of a timeline of implementation as experienced by Meijer Corporation. Starting with Meijer’s first SAFe Agile Teams, to the launching of Agile Release Trains, and finally expansion of the concepts toward the goal of Enterprise Agility. This will be inclusive of experience and examples of how Meijer has adapted the framework, some of Meijer’s learning, and in the spirit of DAKI (Drop, Add, Keep, Improve) some retrospective reflection on the journey.

From these industries Sandra brings over two decades of practical business experience, including more than fifteen years in the Project/Program space. Having held positions such as Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, Technical Project Manager, IT Manager, and Agile Coach.
Sandra is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute, a Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), and a certified SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) with Scaled Agile, Inc. Sandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems, from Ambassador University, and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from University of Cincinnati. Sandra is certified to teach Scaled Agile Framework certification courses.
