Combat Boots & Construction Sites: One Veteran's Journey
Explore the inspiring transition of a veteran from active duty to a successful career supporting architects, engineers, and contractors with Professional Surveying Services as a Professional Land Surveyor and Manager. Reflecting on the discipline, leadership, and resilience honed during military service, the session will reveal how these traits translate into project management, problem-solving, and leadership in the civilian workforce, particularly in construction and related fields. Attendees will gain practical insights into navigating career shifts and overcoming challenges faced during this transition, with lessons applicable to veterans and non-veterans alike.
About the Speaker: Max George
Max, a graduate of Michigan Technological University with degrees in Civil Engineering Technology and Land Surveying, served as an Engineer Officer in the U.S. Army with combat tours in Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. Now a licensed professional surveyor in Michigan, Indiana, and Florida, Max is the director of surveys for Bowman Consulting’s Tampa office, overseeing surveys and geospatial activities across central and northern Florida.
