Session 1

Learning Leadership in Crisis - Becoming a Leader During 9/11

With his recent promotion to E-4 in the US Air Force, Paul found himself thrust into a leadership position unexpectedly. This sudden shift came about as a result of the unfortunate demotion of two senior leaders. Paul's journey into leadership was expedited due to the circumstances surrounding the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center Towers. During this challenging period, Paul will share his unique experience and insights gained while leading a team of five as a young US Air Force airman amidst the backdrop of wartime. Attendees of his account will have the opportunity to grasp essential and straightforward leadership concepts, presented through the perspective of someone who navigated the responsibilities of leadership during critical times.

Session 2

Risk Management : The Game

Risk management constitutes a pivotal realm within any development process, although it frequently receives less attention than it deserves. This observation holds true across various domains, whether it's a project, a startup endeavor, or an innovative concept. Invariably, a substantial risk looms - the risk of failure. Failure might stem from factors such as inadequate resource allocation, a misalignment of the product with the market's demands, financial depletion, and an array of other potential threats. Curiously, even in the face of such risks, many ventures tend to underestimate the significance of risk management.

In this interactive session, participants can get “back to basics” and learn some easy risk management practices through a game designed to get participants up and out of their chairs to thoughtfully manage risks associated with a tricky situation.
