VP of Finance-Treasurer
VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE / TREASURER
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Elected volunteer responsible for managing financial operations, maintaining and presenting all financial records required for chapter operations in accordance with chapter bylaws, local legislation, and the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. This role oversees the accuracy of the financial portfolio and fiscal policies. The VP of Finance also supports strategic planning and ensures financial continuity and compliance across all chapter activities.
AVERAGE HOURS PER MONTH: 20 HOURS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be a member in good standing of PMI and WMPMI.
- Maintain and manage accounts receivable and payable and all financial portfolios.
- Establish and maintain all required chapter bank accounts and financial transactions.
- Track accounting and spending monthly, annually, and by chapter event for accurate recordkeeping.
- Provide monthly financial reporting regarding the state of finances and chapter activity to chapter membership, board, and executive-level volunteer leaders.
- Analyze cost impact and income benefit of all activities proposed by the board of directors.
- Review any chapter contract, agreement, and insurance.
- Develop and maintain the annual operating budget and financial statements for inclusion in the annual charter renewal.
- Assist with annual planning by providing relevant budget and financial information.
- Ensure the chapter has reviewed and submitted required tax filings and government payments.
- Recommend improvements in financial processes to the board.
- Define, document, and maintain financial operational processes and chapter financial policies.
- Provide timely information to independent auditors as required.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all financial and physical assets of the chapter.
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly and ensure proper documentation.
- Ensure maintenance and storage of all historic financial documents.
- Distribute information, materials, and/or fees received from PMI Global Operating Center to appropriate officers in a timely manner.
- Serve as liaison with PMI on financial matters.
- Develop and implement a succession and transition plan for the role.
