WMPMI's monthly chapter meeting is a two-PDU event featuring two presentation sessions linked by networking time and a buffet dinner.

Session 1 Topic: PMO Panel - "If only I had known......!"

Description:  An interactive discussion with a panel of local PMO leaders including questions from the chapter members.  Each Panel member will each open with a brief retrospective to reflect on an aspect of their PMO leadership where they have learned an important lesson...either good or bad.   Thereafter the Panel will answer questions from the audience.

Session 2 Speaker:  Lisa Harvey Roach

Session 2 Topic:  Poor Communication, A Major Cause for Ineffective Project Teams

Description:  

Does there seem to be a disconnect between you and your project team? Are tasks executed improperly because of misunderstandings? This is not uncommom when communication is poor and distrust exists. 

Attend this presentattion and explore the ways you can set the right tone for effective communication, mutual respect, and trust within your project teams.

  • Understanding how perspective and personality differences impact team communication

Speaker Bio:  

Lisa Harvey Roach is a professional speaker, trainer, consultant, and engineer.  She is the founder of Wisdom Consulting which offers expertise in the areas of Project Management, Communication Skills, and Idea/Mind Mapping. 

Lisa has over 20 years of experience working in Corporate America in the steel and automotive industries. In her roles of Program Manager and Business/Commercial Strategy Planner at Visteon, Lisa managed several cross-functional and global teams. 

Lisa holds a Masters in Management degree from Aquinas College, Grand Rapids, MI and a Bachelor of Science degree, in Materials Engineering, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, NY.  Lisa is a Certified Idea/Mind Mapping Instructor and a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). 

Lisa is an active member of the PMI Great Lakes Chapter and currently serves as the PMI-GLC Ambassador to Toastmasters.
