Session 2 Presenter: Kelly M. Talsma, PMP MSPM

Kelly brings 20 years of project management experience and education to her classes. PMP Certified and Masters in Program Management from George Washington University, she has managed projects in IT, product development, marketing, finance, innovation, process management and large scale special events.  Kelly has served as the Vice President of Education for the Western Michigan Chapter of PMI, where she co-led the development of a project management intercollegiate competition THE Project.  Her corporate training clients include: Amway, Johnson & Johnson, ArtPrize, and City of Grand Rapids IT Division 


A key factor of project success is the physical location and placement of people in relationship to one another to accomplish the mission and goals of the project. Sometime this involves virtual team work and in other cases physical co-location is required.  This presentation will discuss the importance of developing a project environment that enables teams to work together effectively to fulfill the mission and objectives of the project.   We will explore the case study of the Amway ATLAS project and the environment that contributed to project success.
